The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meets biweekly and had their last meeting for the semester on Dec. 2. Co-president Jada Brown and Advisor Karen Haag ran the meeting and bought all the gifts with the money raised from all of the student athletes on campus. The theme of this final meeting was holiday sweaters as we approach the holiday season.
The presents bought were for a family of five, and Brown said, “This project was truly amazing seeing all of the student athletes coming together to work on something so special for someone in the community.”
Guests that attended the meeting were Lori Anctil, Tamara Mills, and Joanne Powers. Some important takeaways from the meeting were that the SAAC representatives and faculty were brainstorming ways to increase attendance at home games. Increasing attendance at these games will show support to the student athletes whose hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. There are also plans for a welcome back event for student athletes, so stay tuned for more information when the spring semester starts!
